Katie Heath is the EVP of Risk and General Counsel for Copia Power, and leads risk management and legal operations, overseeing billions of dollars in contract negotiation for the development, construction and financing of large-scale energy transition projects across the US as well as creation of risk mitigation and transfer strategies with respect to energy and tax policy, supply chain, capital markets, compliance, and corporate governance.
Prior to Copia, Katie led Strategic Development at sPower (later AES Clean Energy) where she was responsible for the creation of gigawatts of renewable energy project growth pipeline and development of early-stage asset development and long-term customer strategy
Katie began her career in the energy industry as counsel for renewable energy companies, focusing on project development, mergers and acquisitions, and tax equity financing transaction, resulting in the build out of significant amounts of renewable generation in southeastern markets.
In addition to her work within the renewable energy industry, Katie has served as an adjunct professor of Energy Law and Policy at Wake Forest University School of Law, where she received her Juris Doctorate.
