Ben Campbell is the Construction Safety Manager for Clearway Energy Group. He is responsible for managing the health and safety programs of the Clearway's Construction Portfolio for Solar, Wind and Battery Storage assets across the US and Hawaii, overseeing the day to day construction operations for all renewable energy projects.
Ben has been involved with safety and health issues and risk management in the construction industry since 1993. Prior to joining Clearway, he worked for Arizona Department of Occupational Safety and Health as a Safety Compliance Officer. There he was responsible for conducting enforcement safety inspections and investigations to determine employer compliance with applicable safety and health laws.
Prior to his role at ADOSH, Ben served 22 years in the United States Navy as a member of the Seabees in the Naval Construction Force. He held a variety of construction positions; ranging from crewmember to project manager and technical staff positions such as training manager, unit safety officer. Ben’s last position was the Western Regional Safety Director for the Naval Construction Force. He led a team of 6 professionals managing the EHS program and training of 381 personnel involved in high-risk training and military operations, overseeing six subordinate unit safety programs covering 6,100 personnel ensuring compliance with the Navy Safety and Occupational Health Program and OSHA regulations.
