Early is an accomplished Asset Operations Training Manager at EDP Renewables North America. He has played a pivotal role in developing a training center that focuses on integrating future technicians into the company safely. Early has also led the company's efforts in digitizing a task-based certification program that aims to improve technician development and morale. He has an impressive background, having served in the US Navy for twenty years, where he worked aboard four submarines and three training commands. Early started his career in the wind industry in 2009 as a wind technician at Clipper Windpower. He eventually became a technical trainer and trained over 50 wind technicians to troubleshoot turbine anomalies. Early spearheaded improvements to training programs, work processes, and procedures. He has also served as the Organization Capabilities Manager for BP Wind Energy, where he developed and managed a comprehensive training and onboarding program. Early was the Operations Training Specialist at Pattern Energy, where he developed innovative training solutions, including 7 complex curricula, 12 E-learning courses, and many training tutorials and safety topics. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Workforce Education and Development from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. Early and his wife Nicole reside in Humble, TX. Additionally, he is the past chairman for AWEA’s Wind Technician Training & Education Working Group.
