About the Presenter: Andrew Burgess, IPS, Renewables Business Development Manager - Power

Andrew Burgess received his B.Eng (Hons.) degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from The University of Manchester in 2010.

Prior to this, Andrew worked for R&B Switchgear on an Industrial Year Placement as Junior Project Manager.

During this period, he worked extensively at Grand Bahamas Shipyard on the reinstatement of the semi-submersible vessel 'Mighty Servant 3'; a project involving the replacement, installation and re-commissioning of all LV/MV electrical systems on board.

After graduating, Andrew joined HVPD in the role of Technical Sales Engineer where his primary focus was on field demonstrations of HVPD’s technology in the marine, oil and gas, industrial process and utility sectors for customers such as China Light & Power in Hong Kong, BAE Systems, Siemens Energy, BP Chemicals, Royal Caribbean International, Carnival Cruises, NASA and EDF Energy.
Test projects included on-line and off-line condition monitoring of switchgear, cables, rotating machines and transformers both onshore and offshore.

In 2020, Andrew received his Masters Degree in Engineering Technical Management from Texas A&M University and has been working in the renewables sector in N . America since 2019.
Having recently joined the IPS team in late 2023, Andrew has been brought onboard to leverage the excellent reputation IPS has in up tower field service and repair and broaden the company’s portfolio to now include power management and distribution.
