Jeff Court is the Head of Safety and Training for Clearway Energy Group. Jeff supports Clearway Group's Corporate, Construction and O&M organizations in ensure safety and training systems support Clearway’s Zero Harm culture and corporate mission to make clean, competitive and reliable energy; to do good by our customers, our communities, our environment, and our people; and to be an enduring company that makes these things – and even more - possible.
Jeff brings over 40 years of experience in the commercial electric utility industry with 22 years in power plant operations (nuclear and fossil Operator), 10 years in Transmission and Distribution safety and Human Performance improvement and 11 years in utility scale solar and wind construction and O&M safety.
Before taking his role at Clearway Energy, Jeff was the Sr. Regional EHS Manager for First Solar. He was instrumental in the development and implementation of the Health and Safety Management System for First Solar Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) organizations.
Prior to First Solar, Jeff was the Safety and Performance Improvement Manager for Arizona Public Service (APS) Company’s Energy Delivery (Transmission and Distribution)/Customer Service/Rates and Regulations organization (approx. 4300 employees). His role was to successfully implement the organizations Health& Safety programs along with the development and implementation of a Human Performance Improvement Department to drive down injuries, improve overall Safety and Operational performance.
Other experience includes operations and operations support positions (Nuclear Operator, Procedure Writer, Incident Investigator, Human Performance Improvement Consultant) at the three 1.27 GW Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Stations in Tonopah Arizona and as a Journeyman Plant Operator at the 750 MW Louisa coal fired generating station in Muscatine, Iowa
